10HP Eurorack Prototype Kit – Quick Start Guide
10HP Eurorack Control Deck
- N8 Synth Eurorack Control Decks are comprised of Jack-Pot-Switch cells, JPS cells for short.
- Each JPS cell hosts a component commonly used for Eurorack control and IO.
- A vertically mounted 3.5mm jack, potentiometer, SPDT switch, or LED can be mounted in each cell.
- Each JPS cell has vertical and horizontal solder pads labelled A, B, and C. These are used to mount the components and connect their pins to the breadboard connectors on the Control Deck.
- Mounting 3.5mm Jack Sockets
- Mounting Potentiometers
- Mounting Switches
- The vertical and horizontal A-B-C pads of each JPS cell are interconnected on the PCB. When a component is mounted, the cell’s unused pads can be used to interconnect components on the Control Deck. For example, you could add attenuation to an input from a jack socket.
- Each JPS cell has a D-pad along with the A-B-C pads. The Control Deck’s D-pads are connected to form the D bus, which can be used as a common ground on the Control Deck. Handy for grounding all the jack socket sleeves.
- The A-B-C pads connect to the breadboard connector, which allows signals to be routed to a breadboard via pin headers. The position of each JPS cell on the edge connector is annotated on the rear of the control deck.
Single Breadboard Module

- N8 Eurorack breadboards are mounted parallel to the 10HP Control Deck using the 2.54mm pitch pin headers included in the kit.
- Two 40-pin male headers are mounted on the rear of the Control Deck.
- Two 40-pin female headers are mounted on the front of the breadboard
- The 2×8 pin male Eurorack power header is mounted on the rear of the breadboard
- The pre-drilled panel is attached to the control deck with the washers and hex nuts supplied with pots and jacks.
Double Breadboard Module
- Two N8 Eurorack breadboards can be mounted on a 10HP Control Deck using stackable female pin headers.
- Six 1×10 male headers are mounted on the rear of the Control Deck.
- Six 1×10 female headers are mounted on the front of the powered breadboard ( Bread & Butter A1), along with four 1×2 female headers.
- A 2×8 pin male Eurorack power header is mounted on the rear of the powered breadboard.
- Six 1×10 stackable female headers are mounted on the front of the unpowered breadboard ( Bread & Butter B1).
- Four 1×2 male pin headers are mounted on the rear unpowered breadboard.
- The 1×2 pin headers header pass ±12V to the unpowered breadboard.
- The pre-drilled panel is attached to the control deck with the washers and hex nuts supplied with pots and jacks.

Eurorack Prototype Breadboard

- N8 Eurorack solderable breadboards follow the familiar sprung breadboard layout, scaled to fit between Eurorack’s 3U rails.
- Edge connectors are provided for mounting the Control Deck along with dedicated pads for a Eurorack power header and filter capacitors.
- The traditional sprung breadboard’s power rails have been slimmed down to provide an alternating +12V / ground supply on the left and -12V / ground supply on the right.
